Search result

The search result displays all hits produced by a search sorted in a descending order by date, either in a list or a gallery.

You can select one, several or all articles to print or save them. Selected articles can furthermore be filed in a folder.

In the Filter area in the right-hand part of the page, the hits are grouped according to different content-specific categories.

The Time distribution visualises the chronological entry of the hits.

Clicking the link Reading pane at the right-hand edge of the screen opens the article text of the selected hit side-by-side with the list of search results.

Search settings

Search settings At the top of the page, the number of hits, the selected time period and the number of sources are displayed next to the text Search setting. If you have selected more than one source, click the symbol for detailed information on the selected sources and departments.
Your search The text field displays your search term. You can change or extend your search term and start a new search by clicking search.

Articles

Browsing

If a search produces more than the maximum number of articles to be displayed on one page, you can browse them by clicking the arrow symbols previous page / next page.

Alternatively, click a page number to access the respective page.

The maximum number of hits per page can be defined in the Settings.

Selecting

Selecting

Activate one or several checkboxes on the Search results page to select the respective articles.

To select all articles displayed on the current page, click select all on this page.

To select all articles of the current search, click select all #.

The selected articles are highlighted and can also be recognized by the activated checkbox.

Deselecting

Click deselect all to remove the selection of all articles.

The highlighting of the selected articles is removed, and the checkboxes are deactivated.

Printing and saving

Printing/saving

To print or save selected articles, click print or save.

The Print/Save hit list dialog is displayed.

Choose whether you want to print or save the selected articles in the form of a List of titles or as Full text. In both cases you can choose whether or not you want to Add metadata.

Please note that you can print or save a maximum of 1,000 titles or full texts at one go.

For saving full texts with attachments, in the Image/Other attachments area, you can define the format you want to use for the attachments. Together with the full texts, they will be saved to a ZIP file.

In the lower part of the dialog, choose the text size. Here you can also define whether or not you want to highlight search terms.

Click the button for printing or saving the list of titles or the full texts. The button indicates how many titles or full texts will be printed or saved.

Filing

Filing Click file to add the selected articles to a folder. Choose an existing folder from the list or click New folder to add the article(s) to a folder still to be named.

Automatic refreshing

Activate the Automatic refreshing checkbox to automatically display new articles received according to your search criteria.

This checkbox is only displayed if the end time of the search is Last with updates.

A red notification is used to highlight new articles.

To stop automatic refreshing, deactivate the checkbox.

Display options

You can display the results of your search in the form of a list or a gallery.

By default, they are displayed in the form of a list. To view them in the form of a gallery, activate the Gallery checkbox in the upper part of the page.

List

Each line of the list holds one article corresponding to your search criteria.

The following data is displayed:

Date The first column indicates the article’s date of creation/publication. If it is relevant, the time is also indicated.
Article The second column indicates the article’s title, the source as well as the keywords. The title is linked to the respective article text. Click a title to display the respective article text. All articles that you have already opened in full text are displayed in a lighter colour in the list.
Attachments

The third column shows attachments belonging to the article. This can either be a preview (for pictures) or the symbol (e.g. for PDF files). Click the preview or the symbol to open the article and view its content.

Subject to charges

Any content that is subject to charges is marked with the euro symbol .

Move the mouse pointer over the symbol to display a tooltip with the charges for accessing the article text and/or the attachment.

Gallery

Each cell of the gallery holds one article corresponding to your search criteria.

To select an article, activate the respective checkbox in the bottom right corner of the cell.

The following data is displayed:

Preview The preview either shows a thumbnail of the article or a placeholder.
Caption The caption of the preview consists of a part of the article’s title.

The preview image as well as the caption are linked to the respective article text.

Click the preview or the caption to open the article and display its content.

Tooltip When you move the mouse pointer over a gallery cell, a tooltip displays the source as well as the article’s full title.
Downloading attachments To download attachments (low-res and high-res or PDF/HTML) and the article text in PDF format in one ZIP file, click the text next to the symbol .
Subject to charges

Any content that is subject to charges is marked with the euro symbol that is displayed next to the checkbox. Move the mouse pointer over the symbol to display a tooltip with the charges for accessing the article text and/or the attachment.

Buttons and links

Reading pane

Clicking the link Reading pane at the right-hand edge of the screen opens the article text of the selected hit side-by-side with the list of search results. Clicking the Reading pane again closes it.

In the reading pane, click the arrows / display previous/next page and / display first/last page to display other articles.

Above the header of the article there are links leading to the full display of the article as well as for printing and saving the article that is displayed.

In the case of articles of pictures or graphics, a thumbnail is displayed. To open or save the picture or graphic, click the link for the respective format.

Saving as a search template or alarm

To save the current search criteria as a search template for later reuse, click the link save as search template/alert in the Your search area.

The Save search template dialog is displayed. In this dialog you can define the name of your search template and activate alerts.

Search settings To display or modify your search criteria, click Search settings in the navigation path.
Search

Click search to start a new search based on your modified search criteria.

The list or gallery of hits is refreshed accordingly.
